Elizabeth Eleanor Siddal

Elizabeth Eleanor Siddal  (25 July 1829 – 11 February 1862)  was a poet, artist and artists’ model. She was married to Dante Gabriel Rossetti and was his model for the ideal woman.

Elizabeth Eleanor Siddal also modelled for many of Rossetti’s circle (the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood). She was the model for John Everett Millais’ Ophelia (1852).

The Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood included Walter Deverell, William Holman Hunt, John Everett Millais and Dante Gabriel Rossetti who all painted Siddal.
